ECLA Spring Event

books62066DATE: April 22, 2016

TIME: 10:30am

LOCATION: Baker Books, 2768 East Paris Avenue, Grand Rapids, MI 49546

Knowing how much everyone enjoys Chris Jager at our fall conference, you are all invited to Baker Books in Michigan for an all day event. We’ll begin with book reviews by Chris of newer titles that you will want for your libraries. Everything in the store will be at a 30% discount on regular priced items. There is also a large bargain book department where you can find titles between 60 – 70% off regular prices.

The used book department carries over 90,000 titles.  Not all of them are fiction, but there are things you can pick up there that you can’t find anywhere else-you could easily spend several hours in this department alone.

Chris will also give us suggestions of some good restaurants in the area for our lunch.

The used book department is willing to buy used fiction and non-fiction books.  Depending on how many are brought, you may be able to receive a store credit that day. Otherwise checks can be mailed at a later date.  Any books that are brought and not purchased by Baker can be kept and donated to a mission group who sends books around the world.

Please let us know in advance if you are bringing more than two boxes of books and if you are, provide a list beforehand and those titles can be checked ahead of time.

All major credit cards and checks are accepted and, of course, cash.  Be sure to bring your tax exempt numbers with you.

Everyone will receive a goody bag and there will also be some deep discounts to help with budget.

Although everyone will be taking care of their own travel arrangements, please let us know if you will be attending so we can alert Chris to the amount of librarians that will be attending. Any questions, please ask.
