Title: The Problem of God: Answering a Skeptic’s Challenges to Christianity
Author: Mark Clark
Publisher: Zondervan
Publication Date: August 22, 2017
Format: Paperback
Length: 226 pages
OVERVIEW
Mark Clark, a skeptic as well as a pastor, talks about the findings of his exploration into the claims of Christianity through the lens of various disciplines. Clark demonstrates in a very clear and straightforward manner the validity of Christianity. He does a solid job of addressing the most common objections to Christianity. These objections include the violent nature of such historical events as the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition, as well as various challenging orthodox issues as the doctrines of hell and biblical inspiration. Clark also delves into issues that affect contemporary Christians, such as sexual identity, human suffering, hypocrisy, the sin nature, and social exclusivity. Clark ties all of these “problems” together and forms a unified view of the world, drawing on scriptural references but also his personal life experiences. The end result is a presentation of Christianity as something logical and vital for a modern world.
ASSESSMENT
Rating (1 to 5)
4 stars
Suggested Audience
I would recommend this book for students within the 14-18 age range, and especially those who do not like to sit and read for a long time, as well as those who tend to become bored easily. This book is especially recommendable for those who are new to the subject of Christian apologetics. Clark delivers information in exciting bite-sized pieces and does not take a long time to get to the point he is trying to make.
Christian Impact
This book is most likely written for those who are new to the subject of Christian apologetics. It is not written for an advanced, scholarly audience but rather for more of a general interest readership desiring a catalyst for personal investigations into the claims of Christianity. More serious theologians may find this material rather basic, but lay readers will appreciate its readability and insightfulness.
Other Notes
This is both a book about Clark’s experiences with Christianity and the evidence for Christianity.

“Suggested Audience”
No one. It’s amateurish and littered with errors and problems. Another book like this did not need to be written: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2397503627
