Please note that blog posts cannot conflict with our Statement of Faith.

Types of Blog Posts

What we are looking to share as blog posts:

  • Tips and techniques about managing a church library ministry, such as collection development and weeding, volunteer recruitment and retention, library technologies, book clubs and summer reading programs, promoting and marketing your church library, etc.
  • Reviews of Christian books, movies, TV series, music, and other audio programming.
  • Reviews of library technology tools.
  • Successes and challenges of running a church library.
  • Showcasing a particular volunteer or service from your church library.
  • Highlighting an event or program hosted by your church library or chapter.
  • A testimony about how you have seen God at work in your ministry.
  • How has your church library ministry, and working with your library community, had an impact on you?

Submitting a Blog Post

To submit a blog post, please email the following in Word format to admin@eclalibraries.org:

  • A short blog post of 1 to 3 paragraphs, longerposts may get broken up and reworked into a series of blog posts.
  • A photo, graphic, or video that is relevant to your post (we can help find these if needed). Videos should be hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, or Instagram. Images should be at least 400 pixels wide and high in png or jpg format.
  • Credit/source for any visuals you provide (i.e., Francis Chan YouTube Channel, My Church Name photographs, author’s personal photos, ResoureMate website, etc.).
  • Your name, your church name (if applicable), your ministry title (if applicable).

By submitting a blog post and any visuals, you grant ECLA the right to use these on our blog, social media channels, and publications. You will be properly attributed.

ECLA reserves the right to do basic copy editing and formatting to contributed blog posts (i.e., adding headings, adding bullet points, fixing spelling errors, fixing broken hyperlinks, adding relevant hyperlinks, etc.). We will not do substantive editing to your post, or change your actual message.

Becoming a Regular Contributor

While most volunteers will start out as and stay guest bloggers, those that have the interest, time, and aptitude to write more regular blog posts — even a dedicated column — are welcome to join us as regular contributing bloggers.

Those that opt to become regular bloggers will be asked to set up an account and profile with our blog (we can help you if needed), and to contribute a 1-3 sentence biography and photo. At that time, we will migrate any of your old “guest” blog posts to your new account and byline.

You will have the option to write and edit posts without our WordPress site, or continue to email these to us.
