The setting is 1868 in the Cheyenne Wyoming Territory. After her mother dies, Laura Evans is sent away to boarding school. Now as an adult she returns home to be with her father but finds there is a deep chasm between her faith and his beliefs.  Laura’s father is not the man that she and the community believe him to be.

Laura’s world changes drastically when she meets Wilson Porter, a preacher whose passion is aiding the Shoshone people. Love between them blossoms despite difficulties.  Very captivating story!
