CONSTITUTION OF THE EVANGELICAL CHURCH LIBRARY ASSOCIATION

ARTICLE I — NAME

The name of this corporation shall be the Evangelical Church Library Association.

ARTICLE II — PURPOSE

The purpose of this corporation shall be to provide educational guidance in the organization, development, and use of church library resource services.

ARTICLE III — STATEMENT OF FAITH

A. We believe that the Bible is inspired by God and is the only infallible and authoritative guide for faith and practice.

B. We believe that there is one God eternally existing in a divine Trinity – the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

C. We believe in the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and in His sinless life, His miracles, His sacrificial death, His bodily resurrection and ascension, and His personal, visible return to earth.

D. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he fell from this condition and is lost needs to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ.

E. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells the Christian and enables him to mature in his Christian life.

F. We believe in the resurrection of the dead and future judgment and that the righteous shall have everlasting life and the unregenerated shall have everlasting punishment.

G. We believe in the spiritual unity of the Body of Christ.

ARTICLE IV — GOVERNMENT

This corporation shall be governed by a board of directors who subscribe to the Statement of Faith.

ARTICLE V — AMENDMENTS

The Constitution or By-Laws may be amended or rescinded at any meeting of the board. Two-thirds of the voting board members shall be necessary to change the Constitution or By-Laws.
