Paperback

Length:

400 pages

Overview:

Interesting story containing many Bible stories this reviewer was not familiar with.

Women were duty-bound to do as their fathers directed. Political alliances were often reasons for arranged marriages. Princess Maakah, the bride of King David highlighted in this book, was older than most women at the time of her marriage. When Saul cancels her betrothal to his fourth son, her father feels compelled to send her to David, anointed years ago as the future king but she is really repelled by his ferocity and being the last born son. Although David rejects the offer, Maakah is required to stay with him due to extenuating circumstances and her feelings eventually change.

Rating:

4 out of 5
