OVERVIEW
Jim Burns’ book is a quick read about parenting our grown children. I love it when he says, “Love the children you have, not the ones you want.” He gives advice on advising your kids, what’s the difference between enabling and helping, keeping healthy boundaries financially and concerning your child’s significant other as well as considering their values, their faith (or lack of) and their lifestyle. The author himself is a parent of adult children so he gives examples from his own life and from others.
I really enjoyed the easy reading of this book despite the depth that it contains. Burns’ ideas are Scriptural and down to earth and extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
