OVERVIEW
Night Falls on Predicament Avenue by Jaime Jo Wright. .  This is a dual time storyline, centered on a house on Predicament Avenue where, in both the past and the present, someone has been murdered.

In 1910, Effie will do anything to help her sister, who witnessed a murder and is unable to function mentally or physically as a result.  As Effie tries to prove to others what her sister saw, a British man comes to town, searching for his wife, most recently seen at the house where the murder took place.

In the current time, 100 years later,  Norah has, for over a decade, been struggling with grief and social anxiety after the murder of her sister.  When a crime historian and podcaster comes to town, seeking to look into the house’s reputation and the mystery surrounding it, the two of them end up working together to find out what really happened.

I love Jaime because she writes such excellent stories, with real characters I care about, and although they often look like they are going to stray into areas Christians would not believe (like ghosts being involved), there is always a real and actual explanation for what has been going on.  There is spiritual depth to these stories, and she writes about people dealing with real struggles and issues.  When these are areas in which I have no experience, like social anxiety, it helps me to understand a little bit better what that is like for people who suffer from it and I appreciate novels like that.
