Overview:

Maya Bredesen travels to America in the Spring of 1890 from Norway. In a severe storm, her husband is lost at sea so she continues her travels with her brother who plans to enter the seminary.

Maya has a big heart yet struggles to find a place amidst the chaos of orphans and so many unknowns. She develops a friendship with Eben Miller but their relationship is not yet totally cemented when tragedy again occurs. Only God can help Maya overcome her  trials and trust Him again.

This story draws readers in from the start as it did this reviewer.
