Have we got news for you! A big change is on the horizon for the Evangelical Church Library Association – we are moving to a blog format from our on-line Church Libraries journal. One particular reason for this is accessibility, and we assure you that a blog will be much easier to access. The blog will contain many of the same items that you have looked for in the Journal but we are making it easier for you to access what you want and need.
Another plus will be that you no longer have a three months wait for the next Journal – you will receive up-to-date information, reviews and articles but continuously.
As excited as we are about this blog, we understand that a few of you may prefer a refund due to no longer receiving the Journal. We totally understand if this is the case and we will be happy to provide this upon request. But we do hope you will consider this carefully and check out the blog before making a decision. Questions or for a refund, contact one of the co-presidents at president@eclalibraries.org.
If you have enjoyed Tinna and Christy and their many contributions on Facebook, you will happy to know they will be managing the blog and you can look for the same enthusiasm and great library information that you have received in the past on FB.
Our new Web Coordinator, Colleen Greene, may be known to many of you as the president of the Southern California chapter of ECLA. Colleen is a professional web developer so you can expect great things from her, also! She too will be managing the blog.
You may also wonder how this affects your membership. Membership dues have been reduced to $20, now covering a set membership year running October 1st to September 30th, to coincide with our annual conference. This will not only support the blog but give you access to a members-only page with resources, past journals and downloads of conference workshops.
We appreciate your support and envision an excellent future for our organization. The Fall Conference planning is coming along nicely with great workshops planned by well-known presenters such as Rosalie deRosset, Chris Jager, Julie Ieron and many more. Mark your calendar now for October 24 and 25 at the College Church in Wheaton. See you there!
Ceil Carey and Mary Clapp
Co-presidents
