Publisher: Revell
Publication Date: August 2014
Format: Print Book
Length: 378 Pages
OVERVIEW
In this collection of four historical novellas, each woman receives a letter that threatens to alter her life. For a displaced heiress on the Hudson River, a secretive writer in the lush South, a high society woman from New York City, and a brave patient at a scandalous hospital, each woman discovers love unconventionally.
This book focuses on finding unexpected love, in these cases for women willing to be open to seeking God’s will. All four authors explore questions related to determining and defining God’s intent for our lives. Two bonus benefits to this book are the authors’ letters to the readers and author profiles at the end of each novella.
The plot and descriptions have some weak elements, but the stories are uplifting and free from any questionable content. Readers looking for an escape and a lighthearted story will enjoy spending time with this book, but it is not for those seeking something literarily sophisticated or theologically deep. For this, I am rating it a three out of five stars.
