OVERVIEW

The Word of God is a Christian’s strongest weapon. With it, as the book of Hebrews says, we are able to judge the ideas and thoughts of the heart. In the monasteries of days long past these life-giving words were illuminated with breathtaking artwork to display both their beauty and power. In this book we find a modern update on this ancient technique.

The 100 hand-lettered verses represent 25 artists and seven versions of the Bible. The pieces are arranged in order, beginning with Genesis 1:1 and ending with Revelation 21:1. Each verse is copied in context on the page opposite the artwork.
