Title: God Knew: Revelations of God’s Grace in Unexpected Ways

Author: James W. Meyer

Publisher: West Bow Press

Publication Date: March 31, 2015

Format: Print Book

Length: 156 Pages

God Knew tells the biographical narrative of author James W. Meyer’s life. This journalistic-style book allows Meyer to relate stories from his and his parents’ lives to biblical principles. The devotion-like lessons found in this book are explored through stories of jobs, near-death experiences, love, and death. Although this book has the ability to connect with readers, Meyer’s stories seem more biography-oriented around his mother than biblical teaching-oriented for the reader. Meyer writes with a personal style that could stir the hearts of readers if they allow their stories to connect with his. Scattered biblical principles and analogies appear random. However, the repetition of “God knew” after every lesson brings out an overarching theme of God knowing what is right and best according to his plan, even when we do not.
