Dr. Victoria Sarvadi was only a teenager when she married her husband, Paul, and gave birth to their first child. After several difficult years, Victoria and Paul were expecting their second child. However, when the delivery went horribly wrong, Victoria found herself face to face with her own guardian angel who charged her with the task of acquiring the gifts of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Victoria shares the path God took her on to acquire these gifts, from rearing six children to earning advanced degrees in Hebraic studies.

Dr. Sarvadi illuminates several important points about the importance of understanding the Jewish context of the Bible and how it impacts people’s faith today. However, she fails to explain the importance of the new covenant and how it replaced much of the legalism Jesus experienced in the Jewish religion during his time.

Anyone who loves reading stories of perseverance and God’s faithfulness will enjoy this book.

Christian Impact

This book helps demonstrate both God’s faithfulness and the importance of acquiring knowledge to supplement one’s faith. Many Christians today do not understand the importance of not just knowing the Bible thoroughly, but also diving deeper to understand the history and original language of their faith. Dr. Sarvadi makes it clear that this was crucial in the development of her faith and that she encourages others to embark on the same quest for greater knowledge and understanding.
