OVERVIEW

Claudia Cantrell writes honestly on her experience as a single woman into her fifties, sharing the loneliness and the heartbreak she often felt. The first few chapters set the stage for her story, giving us examples from the Bible to explain why God must be first in her life and listing some of the lies she believed before she put Him there. Then she launches into a narrative of her life, highlighting struggles and turning points. She ends with the story of meeting her husband, after she gave her life wholly to God. Discussion questions and a guide to putting faith in God are included in the back.

Through her struggles during those years of being single she realized that her faith was not in God but in man. All she wanted was a happily ever after life, but she was fighting to be self-sufficient. Her story is one that many single women will be able to relate to. However, she ends the memoir by telling us how she met her husband, making it appear that once faith is put completely in God many other personal matters begin to fall into place.
