OVERVIEW

The American church needs a revival. Several American Christians understand a need to revitalize lukewarm Christianity. But, pride and reliance on the government have hindered progress toward a more ideal image of believers than that depicted in the media. With our nation enrapturing itself with reverse-intolerance and the sexual revolution, Christians often appear judgmental or as person who just sit on their hands in silence. Michael Anthony confronts both predicaments, offering pragmatic ways to stand up for one’s beliefs with humility and integrity.

Anthony earns a high rating for several reasons. He does not sacrifice any veracity. His is not a watered-down, feel-good Gospel. He deals with Christians in a manner of tough love, urging them not to subject themselves to cowardice when dealing with confrontation from non-believers. He supports his points with undiluted scriptural passages and personal examples of how he has offered a biblical worldview with humility. The book does suffer some from a lack of organization, poor transitions, and unnecessary statistics or other supplementary research as opposed to personal anecdotes. But, overall, a Christian on any path of his or her walk can receive at least one take away point of wisdom from his encouragement for courage.
