OVERVIEW

Eight testimonies of modern day miracles, which the authors claim to have been “diligent to confirm,” comprise the first of volume of this upcoming series which aspires to encourage others with their stories. Each of the accounts included were chosen to display a specific aspect of God’s glory. As a result, the testimonies range from feel-good stories about small personal signs for direction, to angelic intervention in crises, to all-out spiritual warfare.

Christians who are wary of miracle stories may not find the author’s introductory statements about their desire to glorify God and avoid turning God’s work into a “sideshow spectacle” convincing enough to fully embrace every story. For instance, some readers may take offence at what might be deemed a flippant tone when discussing demonic activity in the last story. But if you are simply interested in personal testimonies of how God has worked in the lives of other believers, you are likely to find at least of few of them will move you and perhaps remind you of how God has worked in your own life.

Christian Impact

The expected take-away from this book, is that God still works in the world today. Those who read these accounts with a desire to see God moving in them will; others will find a few of the stories less believable or inspiring. While all the experiences are written from a Christian point of view, there is little scripture. If you are looking for inspirational Christian a book to point you to a real knowledge of or relationship with God, this book, while intriguing, would leave you with some questions. If you are just looking for an opportunity to read a variety of testimonies about how other believers have experienced God, you will be satisfied.
