OVERVIEW
Nurse practitioner Leigh Weston thought her troubles were behind her when she moved back to her hometown. But attempts on her life and mysteries at the hospital seem out to prove her wrong. So, she turns to her childhood-friend-turned-homicide-investigator Ryan Parker for help.
What might have been a simple case turns out not so simple after all as dead bodies point to a potential serial killer. In the midst of the investigation, Ryan can’t help falling for Leigh . . . but he might lose her to the mystery killer if they can’t solve the case soon.
Blackburn has created a true page-turner to keep readers on the edge of their seats. Her complex plot meshes splendidly with a well-crafted romance. However, some of the plot points seem disjointed, and a few reveals don’t seem to have proper setup in order to make sense. Despite this, the book is exhilarating to read and more than makes up for these inconsistences.
