OVERVIEW

The setting is 1951 and Maggie Esh is an eighteen-year-old Amish girl racked by pain and disability. She needs healing and she also needs hope in a future. When a tent revival comes to her area, she is invited by cousins to attend. Not being sanctioned by the Amish church, Maggie is interested and asks for permission from her father. Reluctantly given, she so enjoys the meetings, the singing, the feeling that healing might be possible.

The best word to describe this book is sweet. It is truly a sweet story of a young woman’s physical problems, how they affect her life and of her lovely family. It is very typical Beverly Lewis Amish.
