OVERVIEW
The Bible refers to God speaking to people through dreams many times, but is that still true today? If so, how do Christians understand what God’s trying to say to them in dreams? Marsha Dunstan combines her training in Biblically-based dream interpretation with what the Bible says about dreams to answer these questions. With practical examples and careful explanations, she tells readers:
- What separates God-given dreams from natural dreams
- How to understand the metaphorical images that populate God-given dreams
Like most topics involving the Holy Spirit communicating to people, dreams from God is a hard subject to navigate. Personal opinion can easily take the place of objective Bible teaching, especially for people who associate dream interpretation with Eastern mysticism. While Dunstan occasionally dips into her own opinions, she does a surprisingly good job of sticking with what the Bible teaches. She builds a compelling case that God still uses dreams, while emphasizing how it important it is to seek spiritual guidance and advice from other Christians about ones’ dreams. She also freely admits there are demonic as well as angelic presences that can interfere with people’s minds and discourages readers from jumping to conclusions about every dream they have. Readers looking for a solid guide to this unusual topic will find this book very helpful.
