OVERVIEW

The setting is Yellowstone in the year 1886. The government has given control of Yellowstone to the United States Calvary. Kate Tremaine runs a hotel in the park, is the sole person in charge since being widowed. She is glad of this change and welcomes Lieutenant Prescott, offering him assistance in navigating the area, showing him paths, areas to avoid, others that are dangerous. Both Kate and William begin to feel an attraction to each other but Prescott carries a secret that makes him wary of giving his heart and sharing his guilt. All seems to come together in one painful part when Kate’s seven year old son is kidnapped. Working together, can they be healed as they also save the boy, the bison and the park itself?

Although a theme readers have read many times of wounded hearts not sure they can love again, the setting of Yellowstone in the 1800’s is rather unique and brings a distinction to the plot and setting.
