Publication date:

January 2023

Format:

Paperback

Length:

289 pages

Overview:

Even young Amish find a need to escape their pasts and their mundane present situations. Mary Margaret plans a vacation to Florida and makes fast friends with her bus mates, Betsy and Lilly.

Soon into their trip, Esther arrives from Mary Margaret’s hometown, not a friend but rather her childhood nemesis.

Her heart’s desire deals with old hurts, forgiveness and, of course, romantic interests for both Mary Margaret and Esther. Interests that develop into love relationships.

Although a fan of Amish fiction, I found this story to be rather unremarkable and certainly not one of Gray’s best works.

Rating:

3 out of 5

Suggested audience:

Fans of Amish fiction particularly

Christian impact:

There is a definite Christian worldview throughout the book and prayer, Scripture and dependence on the Lord are constants.

Also includes:

-a sneak peek at the author’s next book in the series
