Overview:

Birth of the chosen one is a retelling of the Christmas story in a way that culturally relates to the First Nations people of North America. It is adapted from an indigenous translation of the New Testament and is beautifully written in a way that will resonate with children and with the adults who may be reading the book with them. The illustrators, themselves members of the Miami Nation of Indiana, add much to the story by the way they have pictured the characters. I believe readers will see the birth of Christ in a new way in this book as well as reiterating in their hearts the nativity story as we have probably read it many times.
