Julia Monroe feels blindsided when her old beau shows up in church one Sunday morning. Granted, now he is sporting an eye patch due to the loss of an eye and he is joining the church but she wants to stay as far away from him as possible. At this point in her life she’s a widow with two college aged sons and has no need for old lovers, despite the way he still raises her heartbeat. He couldn’t be trusted twenty years ago so why would she think she could trust him today.

But second chances are just that and Samuel Reed believes in them and is determined to show his true heart and character to Julia and to win her heart and love back.
