I felt like I was in Scotland as I read this book, having traveled there myself last year. I love historical fiction and discovered a little known history of the legend of the Scottish silkie! The author describes the setting with such beautiful countryside. and the story draws the reader in.
Cilla van der Zee survives the occupation of the Netherlands of by the German war machine by training to be a Nazi spy! She plans to abandon that plan and help the Allies instead but is found out and she is going to be executed! Then, deciding she might be more help alive instead of dead, Cilla is employed by British intelligence, but, of course,
the real question is can she be trusted?
