Overview:

Times were so very different during the reign of Nero in Rome. Each class of people knew their ranking and did not mix with others.

Calandra lives with her father, a well-known sculptor. He is hired by a senator to make a bust of that senator and after delivery, the senator commissions him to make an even larger one of Nero. They are guests for dinner at the senator’s home when great fires break out destroying many homes and killing many people, mostly Christians. Paranoia, cruelty, who to believe and trust are all strong emotions in The daughter of Rome. Calandra and others face impossible choices concerning their family, faith, love and death.
