Overview:

In Ur of the Chaldeans, Terah and his second wife have a son Abram and he is promised in marriage to Sarai. She was at that time called Ishcah but Abram renames her Sarai on their wedding day. They have never met before the ceremony so that is rather daunting to the bride as well as the fact that she has always worshipped idols and this husband is devoted to an unseen God.

But when Abram determines to leave the family in direction from Adonai, Sarai opts to go with him and to follow his God. Abram becomes Abraham and Sarai becomes Sarah. God’s timing is not our timing so there is much wrestling in their relationship about what God’s promises really mean to Abraham and Sarah. Will their descendants really “outnumber the stars”?
