Overview:

The setting is in Canada in 1837. Widowed lawyer James Kinney is certainly not looking for love. But his daughter Evie is yearning for the love of a mother. Sara O’Connor is simply the laundress, but her ways demonstrate there is more to her than meets the eye. Evie is really taken by Sara and with a strange turn of events, James must call on her for help when Sara becomes ill. Next, she becomes the young girl’s tutor but it does not seem appropriate to have her in the home of an unattached man. Why not get married, a marriage of convenience, of course, and Evie will be so thrilled to have Sara in her life, always.

Feelings cannot always be kept under control and when Kinney’s life is at stake, Sara must boldly attempt to help him by disclosing her greatest secret.
