This is a story about kindness, the kind that goes above and beyond what is generally expected or thought the norm. Andy Clark delivers that type of kindness and it is usually unknown to the recipient that Andy is the one handing out love and helpfulness. Andy has a large tumor on the side of his face, the kind that cannot go unnoticed and could have made him angry and hateful instead of the sweet and merciful man he is.

Della Rose Miller was once Andy’s best friend, as a young child, but a lot of things have happened since then, including a child and a divorce for Della Rose. But when she moves back to their hometown, an unlikely friendship develops between her daughter and Andy.

This is a charming story that will make you smile and, of course, may bring a tear or two to your eyes. It is definitely an unusual take on a feel-good story. And don’t miss the quotes that begin each chapter, the author has a lot to say in those short sentences or paragraphs.
