Review:

Tommy Twitchnose is a delightful little mouse with an entire family as well as village living around him. He and his wife, Tiggy and their children abide in a cozy spot under the floorboards of a converted barn. Life is peaceful and food is readily available from the humans living above them who often drop scraps that are delicious tidbits for little rodents.

The book is divided into six longish chapters, each one being a complete story or adventure of Tommy and his cohorts. The stories range from The surprise visitors about a large family of town mice who descend upon the Twitchnoses to The very naught squirrel who ended up being arrested by the Cheesethorpe Police!

And if you think the author’s name sound familiar, you are right. Terry Waite is a former hostage and hostage negotiator. Perhaps the stories found in this entertaining little book began in his mind while he was held captive in Lebanon.

ASSESSMENT

Rating (1 to 5):

4

Suggested Audience:

Ages 4-8

Christian Impact:

The mouse pastor and church is mentioned more than once but no real Christian message in the book. Just a cute story for kids.
