OVERVIEW

Shadow among the sheaves is a unique retelling of the story of Ruth and Naomi set in England after the Great Rebellion of 1857. Rena is a widowed Indian woman who has followed her British mother-in-law back to her home. Living in squalor, with no hopes for an improved future, Rena catches the eye of Lord Barric, a stern man yet not without compassion, who attempts to assist Rena and Nell yet at every turn is slandered concerning his interest and concern for her. They are attracted to each other yet both have their reasons for backing off. If you have read the Biblical account of Ruth, you know that love and attraction are not the only aspects of their relationship but property as well.

Take a look at this book of Scripture in a new way. Ruth’s retelling will be a  blessing and give new insights into the understanding of the reader.
