Overview:

This is a story of endurance and hope. It begins as Miriam is a young child who learns about faith in God early. She puts her trust in God that He will prevail and eventually bring her people, the Israelites, to the Promised Land.

For those who have not read this in the Bible,  Miriam is the older sister of Moses, sent by her mother to watch over him when he is placed in the bulrushes as a baby. His escape from and evil king seeking to kill all young boy babies, is only the beginning of Miriam watching over Moses and keeping him safe. Yet Miriam longs for more, she longs to have a closer relationship with Yahweh, perhaps in the same way that Moses does.

Even though this is fiction it brings to life people in the Bible, stories we may have read about forever. Reading this during Lent is a touchstone for us all to trust the Lord, do His will (not our own) and live each day as if God is in our presence.
