Overview:
In this second book of the Amish Greenhouse Mystery series, the focus is on Sylvia, a young Amish widow. Not even a year ago, Sylvia’s husband, father and brother were all killed in a buggy accident on the evening of her mother’s birthday. Reeling from this loss, the entire family has been dealing in different ways with their grief. Sylvia has two young children to care for so tends to stay in her mother’s home with them, cooking and doing housework rather than working in the family greenhouse with her mother, sister and teenaged brother.
Her brother, Henry, has taken up birdwatching and Sylvia has found some fascination with it as well. When she meets a stranger with birdwatching skills who is interested in finding a house to rent, she impulsively offers to show him her empty house. It looks like a romance is ensuing. Is Sylvia ready to think of remarrying? There are many differing opinions on that in her family.
Additional storylines include the greenhouse neighbors, non-Amish, and not always welcoming, particularly the wife. And who has been vandalizing their greenhouse and why? Should they contact the police or simply leave it in God’s hands.
There will be unanswered questions left at the end of this book to be concluded as you read Book 3.
