Overview:

In 1944, the well-to-do Wardrop family faces many struggles from the death of the mother and soon the loss of the father due to suicide. Isabelle has never trained for any kind of work but now must find employment in order to raise her sister. Having lost their family home and wealth, they must bury their pride and move in with a former servant in a less than desirable part of town. Perhaps the worst part is having to accedpt help from Dr. Mark Henshaw, the physician that Isabelle blames for her mother’s death.

The doctor has always admired Isabelle and now wants to attempt to make it up to her-the loss of her mother and her fortune. The plot gets more complicated when Isabelle’s younger sister develops a dangerous relationship with Dr. Henshaw’s younger brother.

Follow the ups and downs when you feel alone. Love, loss, torments. So many life changes that are completely out of your control. You must be humble enough to accept help and assistance.
