The story begins during the Jacobite uprising of 1715 France in a chateau. Lady Blythe Hedley is sent from her home to keep her safe during a religious upheaval when her father is declared an enemy of the Crown. She flees to the lowlands of Scottish and harbors with allies of her family. Her presence is supposed to be a secret but in a home with seven sons and many servants, that secret is hard kept. This is a captivating historical novel that unfolds into a true romance. The characters are very interesting and the story unfolds with family histories.
