Overview:

Author Sasso writes a contemporary retelling of Psalm 23 for bedtime when scary things seem to be in the room frightening us. How does a child handle this? Who is there for them to reach out to? In our story a young girl seems to have all she needs for a good night’s slumber: a warm blanket, cool water next to the bed, a night light. She even counts the sweetest lambs to help her sleep yet those dark shadows seem to come slithering out of the closet and scaring her. But she remembers that “God is my comforter; I will not be afraid.” This is a timely reminder for children (and adults, too) that we do have One to turn to in those scary times. Beautifully written and illustrated.
