Overview:

The year is 1755 and the possibility of war is hanging over colonial Virginia.  Esmée Shaw is a young single chocolatier trying her best to help her father, sister and her community of less fortunate.  She has resigned herself to a life alone, especially after a failed love affair. She has never really recovered from that loss of the heart. But she does want meaning in her life, wants to do something meaningful.

Captain Henri Lennox returns to York, Virginia hoping to complete the lighthouse in Chesapeake Bay. This is a dangerous plan but one he once shared with Esmee. But can their painful past be healed? Can they work together again? This is a beautiful story of romance and suspense along with historical inspiration.

And as a side note, the book cover is a work of art.
