Overview:

Michael Phillips tells the story of his life, his survival and second chance at success. As a black student, he was caught in an educational system that failed him and ended up being arrested with a third year future in prison. But God intervened with a program called Give me a chance where Michael was given the opportunity to turn his life around instead of a lifetime in jail.

Michael tells his story in a practical voice, tending to dry at times, but he is passionate about the change that God made in his life through education and other avenues. Today he has served as a pastor, a leader in the community, an advocate for educational change as well as a member of a school board. A far cry from the future once envisioned for him as a young man.
