Overview:
It is Spring 1838 in Green River Valley, later known as Wyoming. Lorelei Collins and her sisters have settled on the prairie with with their family’s trusted Blackfoot friend (who is like a brother to them). Follow their adventure on the day Lorelei comes across a murdered adult buffalo to discover a baby buffalo left behind. Lorelei has such a tender heart for animals that it is no surprise that she brings the calf back to the ranch to raise. She discovers it is a white buffalo which is believed to have magical powers, making it very valuable to trappers. As these trappers hear of the buffalo, they begin to arrive at the ranch with the purpose of wooing Lorelei and in the process come into the possession of the little buffalo.
Mystery and suspense abound as readers watch this scenario and see the results of Lorelei’s protection of a valued animal.
