Overview:

Brenna Zimmerman is a young Mennonite woman who suffers PTSD and social anxiety due to a serious auto accident where both her parents were killed. She moves to a farm in Lancaster County where her Amish grand parents live. Attending college and then living in an apartment, she is in several classes with Rylan Sanders, a disable Afghanistan vet. He is needy and someone she can give some assistance to but…when he is injured at her family mercantile, things turn a little murky. Yet Scripture is very clear on serving others even when the circumstances are difficult.

Several other scenarios are part of the story including Brenna’s friendship with Johann Mazur, a soldier in the Ukrainian army, this mainly an online relationship. Also included in the book are reminisces by Brenna’s older relative, Rosene, of their ancestors’ contributions during World War 2 to the Red Cross and supervising German POWs. All of these situations cause Brenna to consider her own life and what she wants to do with her future, what the Lord would want her to do with her future!
