Print Book

Length:

249 Pages

Overview:

Fannie O’Brien’s life has changed drastically in a year from a bright future as a beautiful and very intelligent woman to overseeing a 200 acre farm with eight German prisoners as workers not to mention doing the work herself of three people. When someone starts causing trouble by accidents on the farm, can Fannie hold everything together and find out who is the culprit?

The descriptions of harvesting and life on the farm were very accurate as well as realistic. I had only recently learned that there were POW camps in Wisconsin during the war. That was surprising to me. The fear about having them there and the kind human treatment of these prisoners was not surprising. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this book to my high school grandchildren.
