This is a heartwarming story about black women involved as owners in thoroughbred farms. Piper McKinney is the adopted daughter in a prize winning Kentucky Derby family, a family who happens to be white.

Piper is determined to make her mark as woman in horse racing. Of course, her dream, like many others, is to win the Kentucky Derby. She does gain some recognition with the help of Tucker Hale, trainer and actually her best friend. Tucker makes a plan to train Piper’s horse to victory but a scandal intervenes which might change that course. Lots of twists and turns but of course, in the end, love conquers all.
