Overview:

The residents of Promise Lodge are a very welcoming bunch. Welcoming and helpful, always willing to give a hand up and contribute to the success of families and businesses, particularly those founded by women. For the most part they are even welcoming to renegade Isaac Chupp who has applied for work at Dale Kraybill’s bulk store. Isaac has led a very rebellious life. Yes, his father, a bishop, is notoriously hard and unyielding, but Isaac has gotten himself into trouble time and again. Now Dale is going away for his honeymoon leaving Isaac as one of the people in charge of his store. Hopefully he will not regret that move!

But romance is also in the air for many couples but particularly for Isaac and Maria, a young woman with as many strikes against her as Isaac himself. Do they have a future together or will their relationship turn out to be explosive and not lasting?
