Format:

Hardcover

Length:

377 pages

Overview:

This is s a tale of the Gilded Age told in three voices, Adelaide, Sylvia and Junietta (granddaughter, mother and grandmother). In an attempt to help Addy discover what she (or they think) she should do with her life after her father dies unexpectedly and fortunes shift for them greatly, we learn many secrets of Addy’s mother and grandmother. Each of these three characters will catch your attention and you will grow to really care about them. Romance is a big part of the story as marrying Addy to a rich man would solve many problems. But that is not where her grandmother is trying to steer Adelaide, she has a heart for the poor and needy. I don’t believe readers will have a hard time determining where this all leads our young heroine but the journey is delightful, compliments of longtime favorite author, Lynn Austin.
