Overview:

Hannah Miller King, a priest and writer in the Anglican Church in North America, puts new life into the Lord’s Supper. She uses personal experiences of her life as illustrations to put meaning into the sacrament of the Church Universal. Each chapter begins with a personal story that embodies abstract concepts such as hope, encounter, community, hospitality or gift. King takes the difficult and confusing things of life like death, abuse, brokenness, loneliness and pain in order to anoint them with God’s gift of love. She weaves in the scriptural connection and then weaves that into the sacred act of the Eucharist- which means to remember. The book is a memoire along with other vignettes showing us theology rather than “telling us” theology.  She makes the hope of the Communion Table tangible, encouraging the distracted, tired, confused as well as the strong.
