It is 1913 New York and dentist Katherine Schneider moves to the city from rural Ohio. It is very rare to be a woman dentist at this time. But when a deadly plot is revealed to her by a patient under the influence of the dental gas, then follow the mystery and suspense that follows her.
Katherine seeks help from Lieutenant Jonathan Birch, a local police officer. Unbeknownst to each other, they have both been attracted to the other one for quite some time. Together they try to unravel the conspiracy against her.
