Introduction
Title: The Trust Protocol: The Key to Building Stronger Families, Teams, and Businesses
Author: Mac Richard
Publisher: Baker Books
Publication Date: 2017
Format: Print book
Length: 172 pages
OVERVIEW
The Trust Protocol asks what would happen if Christians started trusting people without time to build it up, and if such a thing is even possible.
Mac Richard, a pastor and father, introduces the lifestyle he gradually discovered and currently strives to use. He reveals pieces of his life while explaining why Christians should actively decide to trust people before they know if a person is deserving. While there’s the risk of trust being broken, Richard argues that the closeness this approach brings to relationships is more than worth the risk. He applies this advice to all relationships, ranging from marriage to the workplace. The book is full of authenticity. It uses stories from Richard’s life and multiple Bible references to support its ideas.
Despite the good ideas and interesting references to life and the Bible, a story occasionally crops up that doesn’t connect to the point being made. Additionally, Richard focuses on why The Trust Protocol should be used, but he does this to the exclusion of explaining how to practice it in daily life.
