OVERVIEW

What happens after you become a Christian? How do you grow closer to God after being saved? In this book, Chris Hodges explains the journey of spiritual maturity that follows becoming a Christian and the practices that help Christians develop better relationships with God. He unpacks the key practices – knowing God, finding freedom discovering one’s God-given purpose, and learning to make a difference – and shows how each one enables Christians to live more dedicated lives for God.

The practices Hodges covers in this book aren’t groundbreaking, and readers who’ve attended different discipleship courses or talked with mature Christians have likely heard some of them. What sets this book apart is that Hodges describes these well-proven ideas in an intelligent and effective way. The material is basic, but he doesn’t write it in a way that feels condescending or boring. This makes the book a good choice for young Christians who want spiritual advice without being talked down to.
