Paperback

OVERVIEW
Mike Cosper opens Land of My Sojourn at his point of great disillusionment brought on by experiences in his pastorate and his work with a parachurch organization. He is emotionally bruised, and he is exhausted. Former colleagues have voiced a variety of responses to his crisis of faith. In fact, many have wounded him deeply.
Through the pages, he examines the seamy side that can accompany work in the 21st-century Christian world. He grapples with the church’s troubled witness, what he sees as a crisis of leadership, and even the abuse and coverups that have plagued public ministries in recent years. Spoiler alert: he does emerge with a stronger faith, while acknowledging that many of his fellow journeyers have not been able to piece their personal faith back together.
Sojourn, in the title, is a play on Mike Cosper’s role as a founding pastor of Sojourn Church in Louisville, KY. He now is a writer about Christianity in a post-Christian culture and directs podcasting for Christianity Today.
