May 1870 traveling West after escaping asylum, are fleeing a vengeful uncle and unknown gunman and are forced to stay in a canyon all winter. Days become months and travel is not easy.

After being snowed in all winter, the couple decide to leave come Spring thaw. But they also decide to marry since it is not proper to travel alone. They marry for convenience, however they fall in love.
